Traditional Greek Meatballs (Keftedes)

Ingredients

  • 250 g Pork (minced)
  • 250 g Beef (minced)
  • 1 Onion (Grated)
  • 3 Potatoes (Grated)
  • 1 cup Parsley
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 3 Eggs
  • 3 Cloves of Garlic
  • 0.25 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Lemon (Juiced)
  • 0.25 cup Flour

Method

    Mix the mince together in a large bowl.

    Chop the onions and garlic and add to the mince.

  3. 3

    Add the olive oil and eggs

  4. 4

    Grate the potatoes and pass it through a strainer to make sure all the liquid has left the grated potato.

    Chop the parsley and add to the mixture.

  6. 6

    Add salt, cinnamon, pepper, lemon juice, breadcrumbs and flour.

  7. 7

    Mix everything together with your hands making sure it has all mixed together.

    Make small balls with the mince mixture and place on a tray.

  9. 9

    Heat up oil in a pan. When the oil is hot add the meatballs and fry until golden brown.
