Ingredients

  • 500 g Fillet
  • 250 g Butter
  • 1 Onion
  • 5 Garlic cloves
  • 1 Tin Tomatoes (or 8 large fresh tomatoes)
  • 1 tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Pepper
  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • 10 drops Tabasco Sauce
  • 1 Packet Spaghettini
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 handful Salt

Method

  1. 1

In a large pot add the butter. Once the butter has melted add the fillet.

  2. 2

Fry the fillet until browned on all sides.

  3. 3

Once the meat has browned remove it from the pot. Do not clean the pot, you are going to use the sauces from the meat to make the sauce.

  4. 4

Chop the onion and garlic together in a blender.

  5. 5

Put the stove on high and add the onion and garlic to the pot. Use the pot that was used to fry the fillet so that you get all that meat flavour. If the onions start to stick to the pot add about ¼ cup of water.

  6. 6

    Fry until the onions soften.

  7. 7

If you are using fresh tomatoes, prepare the tomatoes by cutting them in half and then removing the hard piece in the middle.

  8. 8

Take the tomatoes and chop them in a blender until smooth.

  9. 9

Add the tomatoes to the pot, lower the heat and let simmer for 5 minutes.

  10. 10

Add the piece of the fillet to the sauce and let it simmer in the juices. Turn it over every once in a while to get the sauce all over.

  11. 11

Add the lid to the pot and let it cook for another 15 minutes.

  12. 12

While it is cooking add the cinnamon, black pepper, salt and bay leaves. Mix it all together and put the lid back on.

  13. 13

Remove the piece of fillet from the sauce and slice into approx. 2cm pieces.

  14. 14

Add the sliced fillet back into the sauce.

  15. 15

Add sugar and then leave to simmer for 15 minutes.

  16. 16

    Add tabasco sauce (optional)

  17. 17

In a large pot add some water, olive oil and salt.

  18. 18

Once the water starts to boil add the pasta.

  19. 19

When the pasta is cooked strain and add it to the tomato sauce.

  20. 20

You are all done :) ... serve and enjoy this delicious meal.
